Razor Doves is an engine that runs on high octane fuel, one part bursting of late 6o’s influences, the other part extracted straight from the veins of lndie Rock and Hard Rock. With groove based songs like “Dive Bar Queen”, this trio has a distinctive ability to craft songs that are likely to make you want to dance, rather than bang your head. The lyrical content is poetic, yet straight-forward. Dark, suggestive hooks are delivered by sharp and precise vocals of singer/songwriter Chris Snell. The melodies are undeniably catchy. The unlikely alliance of Chris Snell and Jay Pinnick prove that the newest tracks are some of the heaviest Razor Doves have to offer, thus far. Jay has been a long time heavy hitter in the San Antonio metal scene and easily one of the most potent drummers around. Banner Matney brings a balance of smooth melodic bass, he also contributes backing vocals which solidify the Razor Doves as a three-piece Rock and Roll freight train.
Razor Doves have played shows all over Texas, and has opened up for national and regional touring acts such as: The Burning of Rome, 8mm, Akron/Family, The Heroine and Top Dead Center. Additional noteworthy shows include festivals during SXSW and San Antonio Rock and Roll Marathon. Influences include Queens of the Stone Age, Nirvana, ZZTop, Fugazi, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Social Distortion, David Bowie, Clutch and Pantera.
Sponsors include Silver fox Drumsticks, Tsunami Cables, Saluda Cymbals, TorchrCustom Lighters.
